It is quite another to be able to convert internet traffic to reflect the sales that you need for your website. When you are able to convert website traffic into sales, then you will begin to see the success that you have been working toward. Also you will be able to generate web traffic for your site each and everyday.

One way that you can convert website traffic is to write about relevant topics that offers solutions and information to your targeted audience to attract blog traffic. I wouldn't go THAT far. Almost every game that I have tried in Wine has had some kind of fault or bug tat was jarring enough to make me want to give up on WINE several times. Steam games in particular, while they aren't the most graphics intensive games, they seem to have the most issues especially when it comes to the online presence, they have a really tough time running.

for a first-timer you did exceedingly well, you avoided some of the common mistakes people with their first attempt make and that is using a video cam like a point and shoot. Love the music with it. Also the steadiness of the shots suggest that U used a tripod? Great idea. Perhaps a little too much of the upside-down feature, but thats OK. Paris is a great subject to do “human interest” shoots. If U compare yr work with some of the crap that is shown here sometimes, you'll be proud.

    Palin's Internet Efforts Lacking
Despite the enormous enthusiasm of her supporters, The Hill reports that Sarah Palin has done a poor job of establishing a strong online presence.

“Senate Republican Conference online communications director Sean Hackbarth lobbed this charge at Palin's online presence this week: 'I'm sorry, Sarah Palin has one of the lamest online efforts of any national political figure.'”

Yes, it does mean that. We should be looking for a more meaningful peace, a peace that cares about people and allowing them to live in peace in their respective countries. Instead, we are looking at how to not make war over oil, how to agree on the price of gold, how to agree on shipping interests, none of which has anything to do with "a moral purpose or human interest."

  8. al-in-chgo says:

No, not necessarily. It should just be interesting, as in "interest". Generally, a human interest story is something that is unique, unusual or emotionally touching.

Wow! The comments are nearly as informative as the post! That’s wonderful. I definitely agree about having a website rather than just a Facebook/Yelp/etc. page. Having your online presence solely on social media platforms really limits the ability to brand, track, and analyze your marketing efforts. It always surprises me when people don’t think they need an actual website!

  11. Somite says:

We can also do an effectiveness comparison. How does the web traffic compares between sites like the Richard Dawkins foundation, Pharyngula and WEIT to skepticblog and so-called DABT abiding sites? Which side has the international best-selling books and regular columns in national newspapers? Where does the actual scientific expertise lie and the impact?

  12. Deb says:

Seems I’m in the minority but this story didn’t sit well with me. All the lies and deceit to enjoy The American Dream? I agree with another poster, how many criminals (law breakers) can “pretend” they’re innocent and have it glorified in the NYTs? How many college journalism students who need an opportunity lost it to an illegal? He’s getting all this positive feedback because he worked in almost all the major media circles and we know what a good sad human interest story will do…….

I'm not sure I'm completely onside with the speacialist system, for as can be seen in other areas of the business Finance, HR, Sales, IT etc you can end up creating departmental silo's, and isn't there a case in the examples highlighted (Enron, economy, BP) that they are in part due to a lack of visibility, awareness, communication? I'm not saying no, but maybe there is benefit in ensuring the foundations of dedicated systems are based on shared process/practice and information?

To echo the sentiments of many other who already posted, this is a nice human interest story. However, this man came to this country illegally, and while “shipping him back” may be unlikely, to not do so only encourages others to come here illegally also. We need to start enforcing our laws.

I'm hearing what you're saying about us becoming better at communicating because of our online presence, and I do believe in some ways you're absolutely right. Not as much beating around the bush. More direct. And yes, there is that risk to let our “eveil” side out to play. But I have to say I do thrive on a more personal level. That said, it seems that I have less and less personal encounters while my online presence appears to be growing.

I don't think there's anything wrong in being open. In fact, it's kind of refreshing. I also think there are things that are best not discussed in public. I personally don't need to learn about someone's sexlife from FB (yes that happened!) and I'm betting the person likely wouldn't have mentioned it had they ran into me at the grocery store. LOL!!!

Yes, I agree with you that the human interest stories are BS, but I suppose the commercials are necessary. (I don't like them, really, but) It cost a load of money to buy the rights to buy the rights to the Olympics, and without all those commercials, NBC would lose money. And I know a lot of sports may be going on at a time, but if there aren't (as in they're only one or two going on at once), it's live coverage, so NBC can't determine when they go on. In real time, you might have five-who knows how much minutes between something. Since it's live, NBC can't cut that out.

Stability, Safety and polish are quickly becoming relevant keywords for Linux desktops.

Hey Pastor Mark, I really agree with this post here. good words.

On a side note, facebook mooches your web traffic, and instead of redirecting to your blog, you trap your blog in a frame of their page. thought you might like to know that. MaYbe break your links so copy and paste is required? your view count would skyrocket i'm sure, and then you could add ad-sense to the page and use this thing to make some cash… alrighty then, later.
